Couperose
and Spider naevi
The MedCos IPL method can be used to treat many forms of couperose and spider naevi. The unattractive tiny blood vessels in the face and on the legs are ‘removed’ through application of the high-energy light emitted by the MedCos IPL. The light is absorbed by the red blood cells and then conducted to the vessel walls. Once there, the light energy is converted into heat energy and the vessels are selectively hit with heat. This causes the unattractive red blood vessels to disappear / fade.
The vessels thus treated will generally first grow darker, so that the couperose appears to get worse. This is a good sign, however, meaning that the vessels have been effectively hit and that the couperose or spider naevi will disappear. An average of 3 to 5 sessions are required for a satisfactory result. There are periods of 2 to 4 weeks between successive sessions.
